ABSTRACT:
This reference directory offers information about 1,358 funding opportunities (scholarships, fellowships, loans, grants, awards, and
internships) open to Americans interested in research, creative,
professional, or related activities abroad. Following an
introduction describing the purpose and arrangement of the book,
there are two main sections. The first is a descriptive list of
financial programs established to support research and creative
activities abroad. These are divided into four chapters aimed at
specific population groups: high school/undergraduate students,
graduate students, postdoctorates, and professionals/other
individuals. Each entry appears alphabetically by program title,
followed by the sponsoring institution, purpose, eligibility,
financial data, duration of the program, limitations, number of
grants/loans awarded, and the deadline for applying. The second
section is an annotated bibliography of general financial aid
directories, divided into five sections: scholarships, fellowships,
and loans; grants; awards and prizes; internships; and financial
assistance to special population groups. The book contains five
indexes: program title, sponsoring organization, geographic,
subject, and calendar. (RH)
